Greg Urquhart, General Manager, US ISV & National SI Partners, United States, MicrosoftGreg Urquhart
General Manager, US ISV & National SI Partners, United States, Microsoft

As the General Manager for the US ISV & National System Integrator (NSI) partner organization within the US Partner Group, Greg Urquhart leads Microsoft's sales, marketing and engagement efforts across the US ISV ecosystem and the top non-global SIs in the United States. He is responsible for aligning Microsoft's marketing, sales, and technical enablement activities, specific to this portfolio of ISV & SI solution partners, to deliver optimal value for customers and strong business results for partners.

Before taking his current position, Urquhart was based in Paris as the EMEA MidMarket Director, overseeing strategy, sales, and marketing for this $2.6B customer segment spanning Europe, Middle East, and Africa. During his tenure, the team delivered market-leading revenue growth, incorporated the European MBS Navision organization into the resource structure and instituted a partner connected sales & marketing planning process tailored to the diverse region. Prior to that, Urquhart was HQ Sales Regional Manager for the Eastern US leading the Inside Sales organization focused across Enterprise, MidMarket, & Solution Provider Partners. Urquhart joined Microsoft in 1995 and has held a variety of positions in sales, project management, and marketing with particular focus on partner channels. Urquhart is known for his energy, his passion for what technology can do for customers and how partners can help deliver that value.

Urquhart graduated with honors from Westmont College in Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology & Business and attended the International Business Institute in Europe. Currently living in the Seattle area with his wife and three young children, Urquhart enjoys the outdoors including skiing, running and the occasional triathlon.

As chief customer officer and president of international operations, Jim Steele oversees global sales. He is charged with advancing the company's winning on-demand strategy, customer success, and growing the customer base.

Steele joined salesforce.com in October 2002 from Ariba Corporation, where he served as executive vice president of worldwide sales.

Steele brings over 25 years of technology sales and executive management experience to his new role at salesforce.com. Previously, he served in a variety of executive roles at International Business Machines (IBM) Corporation. Most recently, Steele was vice president of the North America western area, where he was responsible for over $9 billion in hardware, software, and services sales of a 10,000 employee organization. His prior positions at IBM include nearly four years in Tokyo as vice president of systems sales as well as general manager of telecommunications in Asia Pacific where he led IBM to record revenue and market share growth.

Steele holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University.

Eileen Boerger is Executive Vice President of CorSource Technology Group and General Manager of Agilis Solutions, a Business Unit of CorSource Technology Group. Since joining the company in 2000, Eileen has been responsible for the delivery of our outsourced engineering services, which is now the Agilis Solutions Business Unit.

Eileen has extensive experience in the development and management of software systems and applications. She also has managed the outsourcing of software development and maintenance projects to three countries, Vietnam, India, and New Zealand.

Prior to joining the company, Eileen was Vice President of Operations at QualityLogic, where she was responsible for delivering Quality Assurance services. She has also held a variety of management positions at Mentor Graphics Corporation, including Vice President, Intellectual Property Partnerships, Vice President of the Design Flows Strategic Business Unit and Vice President of Corporate Engineering. Prior to Mentor Graphics, Eileen was Vice President of Software Technology at Unisys Corporation.

Eileen is currently a member of the Oregon Engineering and Technology Industry Council (ETIC), a public sector - private industry partnership focused on growing the capacity and excellence of Oregon's engineering and technology programs. She has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Software Association of Oregon (SAO) and the Women in Technology International (WITI) Foundation. Eileen has been recognized by Open Computing magazine as one of the 'Top 100 Women in Computing'.

Jason is a founder of Emergence Capital and has over a dozen years of experience in the venture capital business as a General Partner with Emergence, a General Partner with USVP and as an associate with Venrock, the venture capital arm of the Rockefeller family. Earlier in his career, Jason served as VP of Muzertechnika, the largest private computer and Telecommunications Company in Eastern Europe. Prior to this, he served as a strategic consultant with Bain & Company and with the investment firm of Welsh, Carson, Anderson, and Stowe. Jason has led successful early-stage venture investments in past companies such as DoubleClick (DCLK), aQuantive (AQNT), Visual Networks (VNWK), and Ask Jeeves (ASK) and currently serves on the boards of private companies such as SuccessFactors, inQ, Kidzui, Goodmail Systems and Adapt Technologies.

Jason is Chairman Emeritus and on the Board of the Center for Venture Education and the Kauffman Fellows Program, the leading educational fellowship in venture capital. Jason also serves on the Advisory Board of Arthur Rock Center of Entrepreneurship at Harvard and on the Steering Committee of the West Coast Research Center. Jason is a Founding Board member of Endeavor, a non-profit serving the needs of entrepreneurs in emerging markets.

Jason graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from Harvard with Distinction. Upon graduation, Jason was selected for the Charles Williams Fellowship at Harvard Business School for post-graduate research in Entrepreneurship and Finance. Jason is married with two children. The most unique trivia about Jason is that he is a twin married to a twin.

Jon Kruse is an Investment Manger for Intel Capital responsible for leading investments in the OnDemand and IT Services sectors. He has executed equity and business development deals around the world in firms as varied as Skype (VoIP telephony), Entellium (SaaS CRM), Panorama Software (Business Intelligence), OpSource (SaaS enabling), Certisign (Brazil - Service based workflow tools), Star SoftComm (PRC - service based manageability), and Voxify (SaaS based voice automation). Prior to joining Intel Capital, Jon spent 10 years in a variety of marketing, strategic planning, and finance roles at Intel. He led the strategic planning effort which ultimately led to Intel's Digital Home vision, as well as several emerging market based programs and products (PRC Education and Internet Cafe PCs). Jon also led Intel's European business client marketing team, which delivered several of Intel's initial Central European and Russian specific marketing programs.

Prior to joining Intel, Jon's professional experience included information technology and strategic consulting roles at Andersen Consulting and Coopers & Lybrand. He received his MBA from the University of Michigan and a BA in Economics and Mathematics from Miami University . Jon is an active participant in his community, having either served or is currently serving as the President of the Board of the Portland Baroque Orchestra, the Vice Chair/Chair-elect of the Oregon Zoo Foundation, the Chair of the Multnomah County Library Levy Campaign ($175M levy), and appointed advisor to the Mayor of Portland on the city budget process and urban renewal strategy.

In his role as the manager of the Customer Success Program he was responsible for the formation and execution of customer facing programs designed to create an increased customer value proposition from use of the product. As Director of Marketing and Product Management for Adobe's Business Productivity Business Unit, Erik Larson is responsible for building, accelerating, and operating many of Adobe's new and existing Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings. This includes Acrobat Connect web conferencing and CreatePDF Online services, along with new service offerings currently under development, including Adobe "Share" file sharing service, Adobe "Cocomo" collaboration SDK and supporting APIs, and the recently acquired Buzzword collaborative word processor. Previously, Erik was Director of Product Management for Breeze and the Flash Media Server at Macromedia (acquired by Adobe in December 2005) where he grew both product lines from new businesses to industry leadership in the conferencing/training and video streaming markets.

Erik joined Macromedia in early 2000 focusing on bringing new products to market, including Macromedia Contribute, a collaborative website authoring product. Earlier, Erik served as Captain and civil engineer in the US Air Force.

Erik holds a Bachelor's degree in astronautical engineering from MIT and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Amy Lewis comes to Lithium with a 20-year track record of success in managing customer facing teams for technology companies.

She was the tenth employee at Farallon Computing (Netopia), which pioneered networking and collaboration solutions (PhoneNET and Timbuktu), and built the sales organization which drove revenues to $40M prior to IPO. Amy next led channel and direct sales teams at AppleSoft, Claris (Filemaker), and Allaire Corporation (Cold Fusion).

At Allaire, Amy was SVP of worldwide sales and business development and a key member of the Allaire's IPO executive team. Amy built Allaire's field teams in North America, Europe, and Asia, developed strategic alliances and partner organizations, and grew worldwide revenue from $4M to $120M over four years.

After Allaire's acquisition by Macromedia, Amy joined J2EE application management vendor Wily Technology (acquired by CA), where, as SVP of worldwide field operations, her organization grew revenues from $4M to $24 in three years. Amy has also led sales teams for Laszlo Systems (Web 2.0 rich internet applications and open source platform), and most recently for ClearApp (application management).

Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from McGill University.

Deborah Magid represents IBM's $18B software business in the company's 7-year old Venture Capital Group. Her expertise spans across several industries.

Deborah is responsible for building ecosystems for IBM by sharing insights about emerging markets, technologies, and business models with venture firms and entrepreneurs around the world. She also brings insight form the venture community to the development of IBM's growth strategies. She introduces venture firms and their portfolio companies to IBM's strategy, scouts for emerging business opportunities, and shares views on innovation and growth areas of the market. Deborah is a frequent spokesperson on topics of relevance to entrepreneurs and investors, and is on the board of SDForum, the Silicon Valley emerging technology network.

Previously in IBM, Deborah managed the portfolio for the global small business group, was a program director for the WebSphere business, led a Java product development department, and launched the Developer Domains on ibm.com. Deborah came to IBM through the Taligent subsidiary, where she directed the human interface design organization, led product marketing, and ran the corporate web site. Previously, Deborah held positions in product management, marketing, and user-centered design at GE Information Services and at AT&T. Deborah holds degrees in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Connecticut.

Jason Maynard, Software Analyst, Credit SuisseJason Maynard
Portfolio Manager, Credit Suisse

Jason Maynard is a Software Analyst for Credit Suisse with coverage responsibility for the applications, infrastructure, and On Demand computing. In addition to direct coverage responsibility, he serves as group head for the global software research team.

Prior to joining Credit Suisse in 2005, Maynard was the global software coordinator and senior software analyst for Merrill Lynch. In February 2004, Maynard launched the On Demand Index to track and measure the rise of On Demand business models and the trend of Software as a Service. InformationWeek magazine named Maynard to its 2005 Innovators and Influencers list based on his work in the field.

Before moving into investment research, his professional experience includes product marketing and business development for two software start-ups in the Customer Relationship Management and Java development space. Maynard was a co-founder of Verix Software and played a key role in selling the company to Inference Corporation in 1998. Maynard received an MBA in information technology from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California in 1998 while working full-time, and a BS in finance from California State University at Sacramento in 1993.

Prior to Silverpop, he was vice president of corporate communications at Lyris, Inc., and had served as vice president of marketing at EmailLabs. McDonald was founder and president of Intevation, an e-marketing services firm specializing in email and search engine marketing services. He's held executive marketing positions at companies including USWeb/CKS, NetStruxr and Arthur Andersen.

McDonald is a columnist for Media Post Email Insider and a former ClickZ Email Delivery columnist. He is a frequent speaker at major industry conferences and events and is often quoted in the press. In 2005, he was selected Marketing Executive of the Year by the American Business Awards (the Stevie's). An industry newsletter he launched in 2003 has won seven awards including Best B2B e-newsletter from MarketingSherpa and the ClickZ Marketing Excellence Award.

Prior to founding the firm in 1999, Mr. McNee spent eleven years with Gartner, Inc., most recently as Group Vice President and Research Fellow, responsible for guiding the firm's overall research strategy. A recognized expert in enterprise software and related business/IT services, Mr. McNee spent five years leading Gartner's Business/IT Management practice as its Director of Research, focusing on CIO governance, IT sourcing models and e-commerce management strategies. A frequent speaker at industry conferences, Mr. McNee has published hundreds of articles and consulted with thousands of user and vendor clients over the years, throughout the world. Prior to Gartner, Mr. McNee held strategic planning, business development and marketing positions at CBS, HBO, Comshare and the Institute for Social Research. Mr. McNee is a Board or Advisory Board member for a number of emerging and established technology companies as well as the Westport Public Library. Mr. McNee is a University of Michigan alumnus and has completed graduate work in economics at New York University.

Mårten Mickos joined MySQL AB as CEO in 2001. Under his leadership, the company has grown from a start-up to the second-largest independent vendor of open source software in the world. Prior to MySQL, Mickos held multi-national CEO and senior executive positions in his native Finland. He holds a M.Sc. in technical physics from Helsinki University of Technology.

Richard Nucci, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder, BoomiRichard Nucci

Richard is the Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder of Boomi Inc. His responsibilities include establishing the strategic direction of Boomi's technology, as well as managing the operations of the product development group. He also sits on the company's Board of Directors. Mr. Nucci works directly with customers and partners to help understand and solve their business integration challenges. Boomi has a patent pending for Richard's latest invention around the technology that powers Boomi On Demand, the company's most recent product offering.

Prior to forming Boomi Inc., Richard worked for EXE Technologies, a market leading Supply Chain Execution solution provider where he worked in the areas of product development and implementation. It was in this role that Nucci learned first hand of the time and expense spent integrating disparate applications and business partners. Today, Boomi and Infor (formerly EXE Technologies) are strategic partners, and much of EXE's integration technology is powered by Boomi.

Richard speaks at universities and business events on topics of Entrepreneurship and Technology. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Entrepreneur's Forum of Greater Philadelphia, a group responsible for fostering and enhancing the entrepreneurial community in the region. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Business Logistics.

Simon Peel is Senior Vice President of Strategy for Cast Iron Systems, the fastest growing SaaS integration appliance company. He has 18 years of experience and expertise in business and product strategy, along with devising high-impact go-to-market plans for SaaS and enterprise solutions.

Mr. Peel joined Cast Iron Systems in 2004 after Peakstone Corporation, a pioneer in SaaS application performance and availability management, was successfully acquired. At Peakstone, Mr. Peel devised the company's corporate and go-to-market strategy and led the company to surpass its new-customer goals. Prior to Peakstone, Simon was responsible for defining and implementing the corporate and product strategy for Mainsoft Corporation, resulting in a dramatic expansion of the company's customer base. In addition to Mainsoft, Simon led marketing and product strategy at the ground breaking Enterprise Application Integration company Vitria Technology. He has also been responsible for product strategies at MERANT/Micro Focus and has held executive and operational management roles at leading Bay Area and European companies.

He is a frequent speaker at conferences and other industry events on a wide range of topics including technology and business strategy. Mr. Peel's articles on the evolution of SaaS are published frequently and he is often used as a resource by the press. He is also a founding member of the Silicon Valley Product Management Association (SVPMA).

Dave Rosenberg is the CEO and Co-founder of MuleSource. Previously, Rosenberg was Programs Director for LinuxWorld and Comdex and held technology and marketing positions at Sprint, OmniSky and NorthPoint Communications. At OmniSky his work on wireless provisioning systems was awarded a U.S. Patent. He contributes regularly to leading industry and business publications, including BusinessWeek, InfoWorld, ComputerWorld, CNET, ZDNet, Release 1.0, Slashdot and IBM DeveloperWorks. He authors the Negative Approach blog on CNet.com.

Rosenberg holds a BA from Rutgers University and an MBA from Pepperdine University.

Prior to that, she was VP/GM of the Business Process and Technology Practices at AMR Research, a provider of independent analysis and actionable advice to more than 5,000 supply chain and technology executives worldwide. Earlier in her career, she held the role of VP of Research & Development at Geac Computer Systems, and held other senior marketing and sales roles at D&B Software and McCormack & Dodge. Colleen began her career at EDS as a systems engineer.

She holds a bachelor's degree in Business and Computer Information Systems from Stonehill College, and an MBA from Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts. Colleen has published many research articles on technology best practices and is a frequent guest speaker at Industry events. Her current area of focus/expertise is on Software as a Service (SaaS), the growth opportunities, along with the technology challenges facing ISVs, associated with this new business model. Colleen was recently recognized as a CRN 2007 "Channel Chief" based on her work with the SaaS Partner Program at Progress.

Tien Tzuo is the CEO of Zuora.com, a company looking to create an entirely new way of delivering enterprise applications. Prior to Zuora, Tien was Chief Strategy Officer at Salesforce.com, which he joined in 1999 as the 11th employee, when the company was still operating out of a house on Telegraph Hill in San Francisco. Since then, Tien has held a variety of executive roles in Salesforce.com;s technology, marketing and strategy organizations. Tien personally oversaw the vision, direction, and design of the first 17 release of Salesforce.com;s award winning product line, including overseeing the launch of Salesforce, Supportforce, Customforce, Sforce, Multiforce, Airforce Wireless Edition, and the AppExchange. In 2004, Tzuo was named CMO of the Year Finalist by the CMO Council and BusinessWeek Magazine. As Chief Strategy Officer, Tien was responsible for chartering Salesforce.com;s expansion into new markets, including the company;s successful foray into financial services and into Fortune 500 accounts.
