Can you help me get into the SFDC AppExchange?
Yes, we are Salesforce.com certified and can help you with the SFDC AppExchange certification. You receive a shorter questionnaire from Salesforce.com with 30% less questions than the standard form. Plus another 50% of the questions on the form are related to OpSource. Thus we save you time and resources here.
What is SAS70 Type II Compliance?
SAS-70 (Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70) is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). A SAS-70 Type II audit analyzes a hosting service organization's control over the information technology and processes that serve its clients. To comply with Sarbanes-Oxley mandates, public companies require SAS-70 Type II certification from their hosting service providers. In addition to offering compliance with federal regulations, a SAS-70 provides assurance to all of a service organization's clients that the controls, processes and procedures evaluated are operating effectively.
Can I start without a DBA?
No, a DBA is required at the beginning.
Can I upgrade beyond my original configuration if I need to?
Yes, our account management team will help you.
Will we be able to install software onto the site?
Yes, this will be done via VPN.
Will we be able to install SSL certificates?
SSL Certificates need to be installed by OpSource as they reside on the load balance tier.
Will we have the ability to create sub-domains?
Yes, OpSource does support sub-domains.
Will we have root access or its equivalent through SUDO?
Root access is available through SUDO during pre-production. Once you are in production, OpSource would like to maintain the root access.
Will I have SSH/SFTP access to the site?
Yes, you can SSH into the server when connected over the VPN.
Will I have access to crontab?
Users will have access to crontab for their user or based on their SUDO access.
Are these dedicated servers?
No, this is a virtual environment and provides many benefits compared to dedicated servers. Hosted virtual machines deliver better availability than dedicated servers because they can be migrated from one server to another with no downtime. Hosted virtual machines are also easier to scale without purchasing additional hardware, and more secure because each virtual machine is completely abstracted from the hardware and isolated from other virtual machines.
Do we get dedicated IP addresses and how many?
You get 5 dedicated IP addresses.
What email programs are available?
OpSource does not support corporate email programs.
