Red Hat Summit, Boston—May 4, 2011—OpSource, Inc., the leader in enterprise cloud and managed hosting, today announced it has joined the Red Hat OpenShift Partner Program, becoming the first IaaS vendor within this new ecosystem. OpenShift, Red Hat’s Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offering, provides developers with a choice of languages, frameworks and clouds to develop and deploy applications.
OpSource will serve as the first IaaS vendor in the collaboration based on the company’s unique ability to deliver true enterprise-class cloud services. Built with multiple layers of security and 100% service level guarantees, OpSource’s Cloud Hosting service delivers the scalability and cost benefits of the public cloud without the security liabilities introduced by competing solutions. True enterprise-class functionality is a key feature of the overall OpenShift PaaS vision.
“Our goal is to offer open source developers choice while providing them with software resources that align with their own specific expertise,” said Sarangan Rangachari, senior director, Cloud Ecosystem at Red Hat. “This enables developers to bring robust applications to market as quickly as possible. OpSource is a key partner, as it provides enterprise-class cloud infrastructure that allows organizations to effectively scale operations while providing the security and control needed to effectively manage its operations.”
The Red Hat OpenShift initiative has been designed to bring together the numerous elements necessary for developing open source enterprise-class applications. Developers can choose from a number of options, from a packaged application bundle to fully customizable solutions. OpSource provides the infrastructure developers require to streamline their application development efforts.
“Our multi-tenant cloud hosting architecture is optimized to provide developers with maximum scalability and the platform integration they need to develop in high performance and highly available environments,” said John Rowell, Co-founder and CTO for OpSource. “As a founding member of the OpenShift Partner Program, we are thrilled to be a part of a movement to make open source development easier on the cloud for both small developers as well as large enterprises.”
Red Hat announced its OpenShift platform at Red Hat Summit 2011, which runs from May 3-6 at the Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center in Boston. Learn more about OpenShift by visiting: https://openshift.redhat.com/app/.
