Server Infrastructure

OpSource leverages a grid of dedicated and virtualized systems and best practices to ensure we can meet our customers’ requirements for application uptime, performance, and scalability. All systems are on customer private networks with full network security throughout.

OpSource offers two server platforms:

Dedicated Physical Servers

Our Dedicated Physical Server offering includes a quad-core processor to provide the processing power needed to support the most demanding requirements, such as high-transaction volume databases and other CPU-intensive applications.

Virtual Servers

Our virtual server offering provides a virtualized dual CPU environment using VMWare’s ESX Infrastructure. In addition to a lower cost point, virtual servers provide unique advantages in terms of availability. OpSource uses VMWare’s Vmotion and Dynamic Resource Scheduling features to automatically allocate resources across the virtual server farm, ensuring your application’s availability and performance.

Servers may be configured to run either Standard or Enterprise versions of Microsoft Windows 2003 or 2008 or a variety of RedHat Linux 4.x and 5.x versions. OpSource can also provide licensing for Microsoft SQL Server. Any other software licensing (and associated support agreements) required for the application are the customer’s responsibility.

Load Balancing and Clustering

Network-based Load Balancing:

OpSource can deploy both web tier and multi-tier network load balancing solutions as described in the Network Infrastructure section above.

Clustered Operating System:

OpSource supports O/S clustering configurations for both RedHat Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems.

Database Clustering:

OpSource offers database clustering on all supported database platforms, including both active/passive and active/active configurations.
