Santa Clara, Calif.—March 22, 2011—OpSource, Inc., the leader in enterprise cloud and managed hosting, today announced it has expanded its management team, adding technology sales veteran Peter Stern as senior vice president, sales. Previously vice president of enterprise corporate sales for Salesforce.com, Stern will focus on sales initiatives, equipping his team to scale and grow as the company continues to drive demand for its services and serve an increasingly global client base.
“With a number of businesses of all sizes looking to incorporate the cloud into their IT infrastructure, it’s imperative that we are able to capitalize on the rising demand with the right internal resources,” said Treb Ryan, CEO, OpSource. “Peter brings with him a proven track record of driving sales while tracking the cloud market in his previous position at Salesforce.com and in his work with ISVs at Oracle. We’re pleased to have him on board.”
Stern brings 14 years of technology sales and leadership experience to his position at OpSource, where he is responsible for driving the company’s domestic and international sales initiatives. Stern assumes his role of senior VP, sales as incumbent Jon Beck shifts his focus solely to the indirect channel, assuming the role of senior VP, worldwide channels and alliances. Already a recognized face among the VAR community, Beck has been recognized as a 2011 Channel Chief by Everything Channel’s CRN.
In his previous position at Salesforce, Stern was responsible for the west coast development and growth of the company’s new direct sales division. Previously, Stern was regional manager of ISVs North America at Oracle where he was responsible for the management of a North American field sales organization evangelizing Oracle’s embedded infrastructure technology within the Independent Software Vendor (ISV) community.
“What attracted me to OpSource was the company’s unique ability to focus on the true value proposition of cloud computing while being able to deliver differentiated cloud services that address the real-world concerns of the CIOs evaluating them,” said Stern. “When you have worked in this industry for 14 years, you see visionary companies that bring exciting and innovative offerings to high-growth markets. OpSource is one of those companies.”
Offering more than traditional cloud and hosting services, OpSource provides the integration, engineering, marketing and sales support required to launch and scale cloud-based solutions. In 2009, the company introduced OpSource Cloud Hosting, a public cloud IaaS service offering pay-as-you-go flexibility, 100 percent availability as well as increased security, control and support for integration.
